The person you are at this very moment is the sum of your habits. The life that you are living right now is equal to all that you have done up until this very moment. You are only what you have strived to be and you will only get out of life what you put into it.
Your habits (daily routines) begin to shape you inside and out and you can take that literally. If you are overweight, fatigued, run down, mentally cloudy, unhappy or all of the above it is simply because of your habits. You have habitually led yourself down this path where the farther you go down the path the darker things seem to get. The hard part of all this, is because it was a gradual change over time you never saw that someone was slowly turning the dimmer switch towards the off position.
There is an immediate solution! People say there is no quick fix in life, but actually there is and you have it in you right now. You can change all the above in a very short period of time. In fact you can change that direction of that path in an instant. Oprah Winfrey once said, “All you have to do is decide!” Anything can happen in your life once you decide! So in fact if you decide right here and now to change your habits…you are in fact going to change your life!
Last night I did just that. I reevaluated my path and decided to adjust slightly. I have been very happy with the results of my journey, but as an airplane flys on auto pilot from one point to another it only gets to its destination because it constantly makes minor corrections. The flight path is the same, but the minor corrections are what ultimately keeps its target clearly in site.
I had been staying up late to write posts, doing the household administration and planning for my future. This was a decision I had made in order to get more done in my day. The idea being that if I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 6am then that six hours would be enough (which has been fine). The down side was the following.
- Slower to get out of bed.
- Behind the curve with my kids in the morning
- Less desire to go to the gym late at night
- Possibility of aimlessly surfing the web
- Loss of focus as the evening wore on
This late night plan had become a habit and while it was moving me in the right direction it needed some minor corrections in order for me to get to where I want to be. I thought, that there must be an even better way to readjust in order to get even more done in my day.
The solution…change my habits and change my life! I simply changed one thing. Instead of going to bed at midnight and getting up at 6am I would instead decide to go to bed at 10pm and get up at 4am, this is what resulted.
- Going to bed at the same time as my wife which equals a better relationship connection.
- 4am alarm requires me to get right out of bed so that I do not wake up my wife.
- Motion = Emotion. When you get moving your emotions get moving in a positive direction.
- Easy drive to the gym because there is no traffic and nearly all green lights.
- Less people all around which makes for a very relaxed workout session.
- Coming home energized and excited to start the rest of my day.
- Better focus right out of the gate which gives me more efficient time when I write.
- Fully awake for when my kids wake up so they can get my undivided attention.
The conclusion is that a minor correction in what time I went to bed (change in my daily habit) had a domino effect in so many other habits that significantly changed the way I feel about myself, my day and my efficiency and my life as a whole. All you have to do is decide what you want and the answer is right there.
Exercise: List five minor corrections you can change in your habits in order to change your life. Then answer each of those by deciding when, where, how etc you will make those minor corrections. Once you decide then the outcome is clear and the final target will be obtained. Please write them below in the comment field so that you can see them visualize them and hold yourself accountable. Others will support you and we can all obtain our dream lives together.

I feel that we are, at this moment, the sum of our habits and a conglomeration of different qualities from people we choose to surround ourselves with. This realization is so empowering, because it fundamentally means we are a product of choices. How simple! I look forward to seeing the posts that Kenyon puts up, because I know I will feed off his attitude and initiative. I then inherently pass that attitude on to those who choose to be around me. This way, a network of affirmative sources is established…a collective with focus of intent. I have recently decided to sabotage the internal saboteur by changing some habits through choice. No hard work, no sacrifice. Just choice.
-I have chosen to practice being focused rather than distracted. I habitually visualize what I desire rather than ritualistically. Following through on my plans for the day or remembering what I was about to do…Easier said than done…no…I’ll reword that so it serves me. Easy done as said. That’s better. If this means turning off the music while I type, I’ll do it. Always keeping in mind that following my heart is actually more effective than just following through on plans. Which brings me to my next habit.
-I have chosen to act on inspired thought only always. Authentic action is the grand facilitator of manifestation and the only way to achieve what I conceive. The feeling of inspiration is direct communication from that which I term Source. It’s like having a GPS for life that will lead me to experience what I am asking for.
-I have chosen to channel myself…be myself…trust in myself…express myself. It is through trust in our own thoughts and questioning authority in all forms that we tap into our personal divinity. Doubt in my thoughts, abilities and viewpoints does not serve me, so I released it. I will only allow myself to express belief and love in my abilities and thoughts. This will be projected to others as well.
-I have chosen to prioritize nurturing my highest excitement with the faith that by doing so I will manifest creations and experiences that are on my desires list and seemingly unrelated to my initial highest excitement. Its like starting an avalanche of creation. One creation will lead to another in crystalline co-incidence.
-I have chosen to exercise every day in some form or fashion. Whatever I choose to do it will be something I love and want to get better at…climbing, yoga, dancing, gymnastics. I feel playful physical action, by default, tunes my vibe or my attitude to one of enjoyment and excitement. If I reside in a feeling of well being during and after exercising, I am going to be a more effective co-creator and a more attractive force in a metaphysical sense.
These choices address the causality of several detrimental habits. They in effect encompass an immediate effective solution to these multiple habits that do not serve me. In other words, they change everything for the better. The key is to solidify them as hardwired programming so they are truly habitual. This happens with belief…a belief. And what is belief in its essence or a belief in essence? Its simply something you tell yourself over and over until the neuro-network is established. It’s just a choice.
Thanks Kenyon. I felt inspired to write this after what you wrote. That EMP from my heart just went BOOM! Here…we…go.
